Attended a talk at NUS today. Hanafi drove me and his friend down to NUS. Nearly got lost because it's damn freaking big. First, we headed to the wrong school because there are 2 School of Computing. Finally made it to the correct one, then can't park because it's reserved for NUS staff and students. However, there's a public one nearby.
The talk was held in Seminar Room 1 and was given by 2 different Professors. The first professor, Jeffrey Ullman, Stanford W Ascherman Professor of Computer Science (Emeritus), gave a talk about how Google worked and what are the logic behind it. It was pretty interesting at first, but I soon got lost because of the mathematics involved. Then spent most of the talk playing with Jing Jing's and Sei Cheong's mobile game.
The second professor, H T Kung, William H Gates Professor of Computer Science and Electrical Engineering, Harvard School of Engineering and Applied Sciences, gave a talk about 'Why Many High-paying Jobs of the Future Can Benefit from a Good University Education in Computing'. However, I wasn't even listening because I was too engross in the game. LOL.
Then headed down to Katong to meet Zac, but he had already left for ECP and hence deciding to wait for Kat to knock off from work before heading down to ECP together.
Went to play DOTA at ECP's lan shop for awhile before heading down to Changi Village for dinner/supper. Yes, it's dinner/supper, nothing else. LOL.
And here's a pic 'koped' from ZiYi's blog for SNFC 2008.
